I love the russian influence mix with fantasy but...

I would give it a 3 star because I thought Shadow and Bone was kinda "meh"

When I first read this book in the beginning when Alina and Mal were orphans (siblings) well I thought they were brother and sister but I read the part were they kissed.

In the begenning, The issue here is the battle scene just went out of nowhere, i do like the russian influence like the kefta. What about where's the fun of grisha legends and stories? Not telling much about the darkling and super human powers to have fun with seems boring.

The stag and title shadow and bone didn't make sense to me. I think shadow is the symbol of the darkling and bone is the antlers of the stag, I though it could've called "Of Dark Antlers or Darkest Bones." that's just my thought.

the excution of the sibling or adopted sibling didn't make sense, not clearifying the characters and backgrounds just makes me feel so confused like "Who are you talking about or what were they trying to object.

I would give it a chance when I will read Siege and Storm.
