(Spoiler free.)

I've finished The Markings from last night and I love it!

I don't like cliffhangers because I really want to know what's happening next.

Main character Adaline Sagel was imprisoned and her family for having powerful gifts by King Renon's cruel order.

it takes place in the apocalyptic era on the island Dather (formerly Hawaii.)

When I first read the first chapter, she started counting of how many days she and her family are in prison.

Adaline's mother visions are the clues of Adaline and Alexander's destiny to sail to Libertas for freedom from King Renon.

And now to Adaline, her emotion, her stoic, her heroisim felt like she had my main character's lead, that's how I personally feel. I symphony for the families and people that had to go through in this difficult time especialy when they ruled by the cruel king.

Because she was left orphan, she teams up with king's guard Alexander when they know each other for years.

She carried a sword, she only uses her force lifter abilities when needed, she doesn't use her gifts overboard, which is good.

I can sense that she has questions and things that she doesn't understand why she and Alexander are like "The Chosen ones" to Libertas.

And for Leywa (The Adventures of Leywa trilogy.) she shares the same purposes, flaws, and personality, she's courageous, adventurous, carefree, not very sophisticated, she can be emotional and strong, she carried a sword (well Atom's cleaver) and she also has unique gifts from the gods something Leywa doesn't know about why.

Adaline and Alexander have marks of the key on their wrists as like the chosen ones to unlock freedom and prosperity. Leywa draws the mark of The Triunity relic, but Prince Tyron has the birth mark of The Triunity relic on his shoulder.

I know it's kind of strange, but I can see the similarity and using my observation for my blog, and these are my thoughts of The Markings and Adaline and Alexander from The Markings, and I can't wait for book 2!

See you again!
